Jean Marie Ivey moved to Maine in 1966. She raised her family of seven while creating works of art: gardens, books, illustrations, photographs and paintings in various media. She took various art classes while living on Mount Desert Island and sold many works of art through the 1970s. After this period she made her family her first priority and laid down her paint brushes and camera. However, she recently picked them up again, and is showing her work at the Flying Mountain Artisan gallery in Southwest Harbor. She has always had a great love for fine art, and continues to share this and her talents with her family and friends. Her work is inspired by her love of nature and humanity.
